Raccoons you say. I have been a trapper for 30+ years. The best trap that is pet and people friendly imo is the dog proof trap. I prefer the lil grizz with some marshmallows in it. Will get the possum too.
I think I would place a bowl of anti-freeze in the can. The coon will drink it and wonder off to die. Other animals won't be able to get inside the can. Just a thought.
