I've got a story about this, I will start off by saying I AM NOT $&#@-ing NUTS. I was over at a friend's place in a neighboring hick town, and it's about midnight. I had just wrapped up helping him build a computer or two, and was on the way to calling it a night. He had walked out with me since his GF was asleep, and we were shooting the breeze for a few minutes when this TA drove by, and I swear it had the lights up front. We just stared, then tried to say something but words were short till we busted out laughing.

Hmmmm. I wonder what KITT would have to say now? "Oh no Michael, don't waste your money on me... buy that GNX you've had your eye on" Seriously though, I would have killed for that car when I was a kid!

I have never wanted any car more than I wanted that one... If only I had the $. Ah well, I did get to sit in it (or one of them) though and it was truly a highlight of my young life.

Over a year ago, there was a Celebrity Car Auction at the Palms Casino that I went to. There was a version of K.I.T.T. there, but it was a P.O.S. The asking price was like $18,000. By the looks of it, it's not the same car as the E-Bay auction.
Even so, it was cool to see the car up close (pre-bidding walk around).

Thanks Pkschul, that bottom link gave me the reason why KITTs hood never looked shut all the way! I remember getting to sit in one of the prop cars when I was about 8, and having the guy with the camera tell me, "please, don't push any buttons." Yeah, right, as if it would have done anything.

In my small town north of Tulsa there is a guy who drives a KITT clone. All BS aside, it has the light and everything. The tag even says Knight and the guy driving looks like David Hasselhoff.(mullet and everything)Im not trying to be funny or stupid. The guy really exhists and has been driving this car since late eighties.
