I have two AirTags on each of my kids backpacks. If I go to an overnight car event somewhere I hide one in my car. Simple peace of mind for me and it works. Apple has (supposedly) updated their software so if an AirTag that isn’t synced to your phone is recognized to be tracking you it will notify you.
