Has anyone purchased a kit car before?
I find them to be an interesting idea, buy a light weight roadster and put a 3.8L turbo six.
I'm really liking a Avanti or a Cobra.

Don't own one but just wanted to point out that I saw one one the show Pass Time on Speed channel last night. It was an Ultima GTR that had supposedly previously several world records according to the owner. I wouldn't mind having one. Drop a mild Chevy engine or a turbo Buick engine and it would really get up and go.

90% of the Kit Car industry are scammers and half assers, do your research well. Factory Five Racing is the top though, their stuff is sound, well thought out, and well made.

+1 on that .buy the cobra kit and a fox body and start swapping.I almost bought one.to much going on right now. call John Spina at Caspers He can probably tell you what you need to know. I think his cars are Factory five cars. real sweet. 12 seconds with a stock 5.0. Imagine a built turbo motor

Factory five is in the town i work in (fire dept) so i have been there. Several friends work there. Went to a summer open house this year and saw many cobras, nice!!:biggrin: Check out thier web site they have a new car comming
out soon. This is my friends car, 5.0 supercharged. He still wants a GN!
