Knock Continues

Here is the post when I got my SM http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175876 I had a ripped vacuum hose after replacing that and putting in a boost gauge I am still getting knock. When I did a run I noticed the knowck go up to 3 then 4 then shot up to 8.2 thats when I let off. The scanmaster was reading 757 on the O2 reading, the bost gauge went up to around 12-13. I am a leanning out or what. Stock Fuel inject. and stoc fuel pressur reg. It does have a fuel gauge hooke up to the fuel rail and was reading around 35 PSI while while idling

Stock reg and injectors werent that great on stock motor,do yourself a favor,upgrade your fuel system and get a chip burned for the combo you decide on.757 is close but alittle low.35 psi is low also at idle if vac line on reg is off at that reading.A fuel gauge on a braided line that reaches windshield is helpful for wot info.

Do yourself a favor and install a Hot wire kit, Built one today for about 12 bucks and installed in about 45min.

The car has a aftermarket fuel pump and hotwire kit. What kind of injectors should I get. I know there is a WIDE range of them but iam not looking to run 10s maybe high 11 when I get there....

No less than 50s,although they are too small for your final numbers.

You better be running alky if you plan to go mid 10's on 50's. Or you may do it once only

I don't plan on even going 11's right now I just was asking what would be good for high 11's. I do eventually want to run faster but it will be a long time before that! So 50# injectors should be good

Do you have an adjustable FPR so you can up fuel pressure?
You are running lean.
Who's chip do you run?

No I do not have an adjustable FPR and I believe the guy who I bought it from said it may be an old kenne bell chip or stock??

Get an adjustable FPR and a Thrasher or TurboTweak chip.
You and your car will be much happier.

Update

Just got a turbo tweak chip from Eric. The car runs awesome now, no knock what so ever!!! :biggrin:
