Knock near the turbo

I have an 85 GN and when the car gets warmed up after awhile a knocking noise starts up. i know its not the engine. do n e one kno what that is? and what would be a good turbo upgrade?

Where does it seem to be coming from? There's a lot of possibilities.

its hard to tell but i hear it clearer by the down pipe. and everything is nice and tight so i was guess the turbo is bad

It could be your down pipe is hitting something. You need to get under it and see if that's the case.
