Anybody know of a mount for a laptop? I'm tired of laying mine on the seat, and with the FAST system its hard to tune while its on the seat. Thanks

i asked the same thing a couple of days ago and they said that there are a few company's that are in the porcess of developing one. ill definatly buy one the day they become available

All the cops have them these days. I'm sure you could find a manufacturer or maybe city auction if any are being retired yet.

The jotto Model 5167 ($149.95 held with velcro) or 5167 ACD ($199.95 attatched with cable) might be worth looking into for mounting in the passenger floorboard and swivel over.

I may just have to buy one.....

Damn! those are pretty high dollar...

Is there a market for these in the TR community? I will be making one for my car once I get a laptop...

Anyone else interested in one? I am going to see if I could manufacture one out of steel that would be able to be removed easily and use existing mounting holes. I KNOW I could do it for a lot less than $150.00...

Let me know guys.

Thanks

Vic

TMF laptop holder

a laptop holder is on the way!...I have one I made for my compac!..I will post a pic as soon as "they "are ready to go!...oh ya...they are made for buick TR's and will be made of 6061 aluminum..and I'm tryn to keep cost below $100.$..later joe:cool:

I've got the Jottodesk in my unit...really a fantastic unit. The cables SUCK so I threw em out and put lots of velcro. MUCH better. The adjustments are endless on the desk and it mounts to the seat bolts. Negatives? Pricey, you can't move the seat too far forward and the passenger's knee will rest up against the adjusting knob. I'd thought about buying one for my TR, but I dont use the laptop in there enough to justify $150.

Yeah, the jotto model that attaches to the seat rails looks a little more cumbersome and didn't look like it has a disconnect at the base.

The model that attaches to the floorboard can be disconnected at the base when not in use. The only thing left would be the base bolted on to the floorboard or side of the console. Looks like the way to go or something others should keep in mond when building one.

Thanks for the info on the cables though. I was curious if the velco would hold or not, but I guess you can always get more velcro.....

TMF laptop mount

welp..it looks like the prototype is complete!...I just have a few "hardware" options to figgure out!..no pics yet!.I will have the mount in my GN this weekend for the HICKORY fuddruckers event!;) ....it mounts to the pass seat bracket bolts...works with consoles...AND does NOT require you to hack or drill or screw anything in your buick!. it is also VERY light!...3003-h14 and6061-t6 aluminum....the mount bracket can stay in the car and not interfere with a passenger...and yes..the seat will still move!...I will post some pics next week!...for those interested....later joe
