LC2 in a Porsche 944??

Would it be possible to drop a LC2 into an '87 Porsche 944? Has this been done before? What type of modifications and fabricating would this entail?

Roc87, thanks so much for the help. I just recently turned my friend to the DarkSide and he was considering doing the LT1 conversion that's kinda popular on those cars but he's now seriously considering undertaking an LC2 conversion and any and all info. is appreciated. Thanks!!
