Leaving in 2nd gear?

The other night I was waiting for a red light, so I put the car in Park and grabbed something in the back seat. The light was going to change so I thought I put the shifter into D, but no I put the car in second gear and the car left from a Dead stop in 2nd gear!!!! I tried it maybe 10 times and every time it left in second gear from a dead stop if I put into 2nd. Is this what the tranny should do? or a Problem

a 200 wont do that, even tho the selector was in second it still starts off in first, same thing if you left it in manual 3.

Do you have a stock Valvebody?
Manual Vbody will start off in 2nd if shifter is in 2nd.
