How useful are these things do they really help with tunning???

they are good if you can't be bothered to look up the factory approved method of dropping in and setting up the cam sensor.. they built these things by the thousands and they were able to drop them in right on the nuts as the engines slid by on a conveyor at the factory.. interestingly enough, there are also some factory approved ways of checking the cam sensor for proper operation that doesn't involve a blinking led light on the cap...
