I really didnt want to spend the money on buying a new harness. I was wondering if they can be cut and then solder a longer peice in between. I know that if I cut it, there would be more of a chance for electrical problems in the harness, but willing to take that chance. I was going to solder and shrink wrap them, do you think this will cause a problem?

Billy how much you looking to get rid of your harness for out of curiosity?

Splicing a wire "in between" would be a last resort. For such an important part, I would just buy the longer extension harness. If you purchased it from us, I will give you partial credit on your short harness, just so you don't mess things up. If you are set on extending it yourself, I would at least buy the pins for one end, so you would only have one splice/wire.
