I am trying to figure out the best way to mount mine..
I know Arizona Gn I believe sells a mount that plugs into the cig lighter, but I kinda need that for the PC.

I have a 2 1/16th Autometer in my upper dual gauge pod. New SES shift light is coming in new Turbotweak chip. My car is a Street car with occasional track time, so I don't want anything more intrusive.

Hey Robsiron,
Just curious, where did you get the carbon fiber? I was looking to replace my woodgrain trim with carbon fiber.
Thanks,
Mike

I went to Home Depot and bought some thin metal strips they sell. Usually near the allthread. Bent it around so when the tac was mounted, it was looking right at me, drilled 2 holes and painted it black. This way it don't touch the dash, don't have to drill holes in the dash, and it looks great! I get comments about it all the time. Here are some pics..

Here's mine. Mounted behind the dash like Phillyturbosix's is. The car is dirty inside since the trans is out, but is coming back this week! Also sent off my chip for an update! woo!! Sorry for the large pics....

The SMC kit is gone, so no more box, and the middle and right gauge is gone too. Soon the oil pressure one also!

I like how it's mounted, you dont need to move your eyes much and it looks good!

Stole Philly's idea too....I do have my SM on top of gauge pod now, hence the higher mounting of the tach

tach mounting

I bought an after market rear view mirror. Removed the rear view mirror portion from the bracket assembly. Bolted the Auto Meter mounting bracket to where the rear view mirror was mounted onto the bracket assembly. Purchased a rear view mirror mounting adhesive kit. Cleaned the windshield with rubbing alcohol. Then used the adhesive kit to mount the rear view mirror tab onto the windshield. Waited a couple of days then mounted the tachometer directly to the windshield. No drilling into the car:) .

I keep mine near the A pillar so I can also watch the boost gauge and knock gauge. Not the coolest looking Tach but it does the job.

Here's a photo of mine. Finally got around to taking a photo.
