I believe they should be on the same line. Check to see if you have 12 volts and a ground... I'm sure those sockets corrode over time too.

Apr 29, 2003 #3 salvageV6 Daily Driver Joined May 25, 2001 Messages 20,968 After probing for hot and ground as suggested. The splice for the brown hot wire is located in the right side tail lamps wiring harness inside the plastic loom I believe. Same with the ground black wire and splice point.

If the tail lamps work on the right side it (the problem) must be between the splice in the harness and the socket or the bulb itself.
