Lift bars have re-location brackets that lower the mount point of the Control arm at the axle. You can adjust the pinion angle for better traction.

They work well.

BUT... there are some lift bars (SSM, Lakewood) that have solid bushings that some say will cause a rough ride, and oblong the forward mount holes.
 
the UMI uppers and lowers for $200.00 bucks seem to work great for me..
