line pressure info

While trouble shooting a line pressure problem I gathered this info.
10 vane pump
Stock pressure reg.
TCI Purple spring (275 advertised)
.300 Reverse boost valve
.500 Boost valve==245 PSI Max. line pressure

Switching to a .531 boost valve --all else beening the same==265 PSI

Looks as though the larger boost valve is worth 20 PSI, in my case.

I run what LOT lists with exception of 13 vane pump and get 270/280 psi on my 200's. I found the 0.531 diameter valve improved the durability of the trans in 700 hp plus applications.
I am trying a 0.561 diameter with a little more pressure, about 10 psi. I was concerned about pressure leaks and reliability.
Have 21 runs so far.

With our .555 boost valve we typically see 285 psi.The main thing with the larger boost valves besides increased max mainline is the pressure rise is faster .This means more line at less throttle and max line reached before cable is pulled all the way out of the trans.13 vane cast rotors are dangerous at high pressures.Studying the regulator valve,the oils path back to the sump that isnt used etc.quickly points out where the additional stresses are encountered.

TCI sells a .570" TV boost valve, may be where they get the 275psi rating?
Sounds like it should be more, with Chris getting 285psi w/.555" valve.
