I'm interested in doing alot of work to the car before the summer. So far, I'm having a set of irons and intake P&P, PT61 on order and planning to buy a Stage 1 200-4R from CKPerformance. I would like to bring the car to an engine builder and have it basically freshened up with new bearings, Billet main caps, Cam & Timing chain. Is there anyone local that people are using? If I have to travel to a neighboring state and stay a night or 2, I would do that as well for a highly recommended engine builder. I know Merkels builds engines and the are 15 minutes from me, but I don't know if you have to bring the engine to them.

Thanks
Marc

Anyone familiar with Pampena Motorsports? I spoke toRay Pampena today and I'm thinking about bringing my GN to them to pull the engine and have it completely rebuilt with all new parts. i might just go with a Billet caps, new bearings, oil pump, cam, timing chain & Pistons.

Never heard of him being a builder of Turbo Buick motors.
Wanting Billet Steel Main Caps does not fit in as a motor freshing job. Putting in caps require a align bore and hot tanking the motor (cleaning). That takes alittle more time than two days.

i spoke to the owner and you are right. They actually pull the engine and send it over to Jack Merkels. The cost of the entire job could cost from 3K - 6K, but I was told by guys in another post, the since I'm only planning to make about 400 rwhp, I don't need to do anything except for the timing chain. I will probably just do a stock replacement timing chain and save for the engine and do it next year.
