Lockup valve spring

When the transmission shop changed the valve from the stock lockup to the non-lockup Art Carr valve, they didn't reuse the stock green and yellow springs on the non-lockup valve.

Were these springs supposed to be reused?

I have a tick/knock after putting the transmission in that wasn't there before. With the motor running but no power going the transmission, the noise is gone. With it bolted back up, the noise is there, but only at idle. If the car is under load at all, it is non-existant.

What could this be after only changing out the valves and swapping converters?
