My trip to race in Norwalk was fun but I hurt the heads on Friday before the event started. First pass off the trailer was 9.42 @146. The car was perfect. Ready for qualifying. During Sat qualifying I ran a 9.46 @ 142. It stutterd a little and lost 4 mph. Cal looked over the tuneup and noticed I had some fuel issues so I pulled my filter (new in Jan) and it was full of yuck.. I was qualified #2 so no more runs on Sat.

Sunday we pulled the car out of the trailer and saw water leaking out.. :(
I made the decision to stay in the eliminations so we did everything we could to limit the amount of water that might leak on the track. Rags, coolant tabs, stop leak, etc.. All Sunday morning I just drove the car around the pits until the water stopped enough to make a pass.

First round I had Scott Simpson. I ran the car hard through the first half and then coasted to the win to try to limit the amount of damage. All the water blew into the over flow and out under the hood...

Second round I had to run Steve Hughes (9.48). I knew I was going to have to run the car all the way because Steve is a great racer. He cut a light on me as I was more focused on what the car was going to do. I watched the rear view mirror the whole race to make sure nothing was coming out of the car. My 9.55 lost to Steve's 9.51.

Fast forward to Monday.. My crew from the Pine Tree Posse came over after all night return trip from Norwalk and pulled the engine and trans out. I wanted to show everyone who may not believe pics of the engine and show that it really is unported GN1s and Hydraulic roller camshaft. I have had a few people say "No Way".. I think I might be the fastest Hydraulic Roller Cam Buick out there.

Here is the major crack in the #3 hole.. Every chamber had a crack from the spark plug hole to the intake valve. I've been racing on these heads for over 7 yrs. So I think I got my money's worth..

I still don't believe you!

Just joking lol. Are you going to repair those or get something new?

Jason,

I am sorry about the damage, that is such a hard running car.
I hope you are able to come back out this year.

Good Luck,

I have two months till Columbus.. I think I'll make it with a few minor upgrades. :)

I feel your pain Jason, same thing happened to me last year.

Hope to see you back and running at BPG.

I still don't believe it!!! Jason is a master at Photoshop. Look at the way he made the rough castings flashes inside the head look so real;) Its all smoke and mirrors, i do it to the ol lady now and then when I shave my pecker. Makes me look like I am sprung when I am not:redface: All joking aside, thats a good combonation you got there Jason. Keep up the good work.

Jason,

Considering multiple things, including your last name, race and damage inflicted on race parts I now give the new nick name of Cracker.

If my previous post offends anyone, please get a life. =)

Goes to show you bigger isn't always better. It's all about the combination and tuning. Jason let me know when you're headed to hattiesburg to tune.

ttypewhite, you owe me a new laptop. I spit my Dr. Pepper on my screen.

I'd say you got your moneys worth out of those heads Jason. Time to make beer cans out of them. Your car flies. It was a good race. We'll have to try it again in Columbus.

My hats off to you too Steve. You started TSM with a vengence. Considering how well your car ran in TSE, I shouldn't be suprised. Great job!
