So I stopped in at a local gas station where I normally fill my every day driver. Immediately, over by a small exhaust shop was a body style that resembled a GN. It was in gray primer and had some big Micky Ts in the back. The chrome/polished wheels looked great and I could just imagine how it would look painted. Walked over to check it out, and there was a torn for sell sign in the window and the rear seats were stripped. The body was in decent shape, and the interior could of used some work. Had a B&M ripper shifter, and it would of been a decent project car. My friend is currently searching for such a project so I called him and let him know about the car.
Again, the next week I stop for gas and the car is still there. This time I get the phone number and write it down. I noticed the car was unlocked so I took a closer look at the vehicle. I popped the hood latch and sure enough the 3.8 turbo motor was gone. Someone put a V-8 carbed engine in it. I was displeased at this and thought I would call and find out more information. Just from looking over the vehicle, I knew what someone would be getting them selves into. It would of took at least a good 6-8 grand to get this car running perfect and looking good. To many things seemed shady when I talked to the owner and they wanted 12 grand for the vehicle
. I think he said it was a 87 turbo grand regal. It still had a 3.8 turbo emblem on the dash or glove box, I forget exactly where the emblem was. Personally, I wouldn't pay more then 4 or 5 grand for a vehicle in that kind of shape. Not to disrespect anyone if this is your car for sell. Then again, I'll be honest and say I don't know much about these vehicles and their real worth. Hell for all I know the engine could be putting out 500+ but personally if I owned one, I would want a built 3.8 turbo!
