I bought a 2005 Malibu Maxx with 4000 miles on it loaded up with leather and the whole deal. for around $20,000. I think the sticker was about $25,100 But I had a 2001 Exploder that I was upside down in. With all the rebates and discounts I thought it was pretty good deal. You should be able to get one a little cheaper. It was built on the Saab chasis, I think it handels great. I have 2 kids and its great for trips. I work 50 miles a day round trip and I am getting 29hwy & 26.5city. Sorry for the long write just my 2 cents. Good luck buying.

Our '04 Forrester (auto trans) gets 18 around town and 27 highway (verified by me), filled to the brim with kids and junk. I use premium 93 gas since I like to use the turbo all the time, but it will run on lesser grades. The ECM just uses knock learn algorithms and retards timing like anything else nowadays.

The manuals (if you can find one) are a bit better on fuel economy and a whole lot quicker than the autos.

Plus the stereo kicks butt, the A/C cranks hard, and the factory rustproofing is top notch. Gotta go off road or through deep snow?? NO FEAR!

I'll be calling the Saab dealerships tomorrow. I'll see what I can find.

There were two 5 speeds at Bell and Frank Lloyd Wright last weekend.

I called all of the Saab dealerships today. Only Legends has a 5 speed. They have one left, but a whole truckload on the way and I can put down a deposit if I like it. My wife and I are going to check it out tomorrow.

Alright, the wife and I drove a Saaburu today. Not shabby for power, bigger brakes than the GN and Regal GS, and it handles like it's on rails. The ride is also much less harsh than the WRX. Pretty cool cars for the money. We could use a bigger car, but the price is good. My wife used to be a car salesperson and a finance manager, so she was able to talk shop and talk them down a bit more. We've got a Black 5spd 92X aero coupe on the way with the Premium package (leather, xenon headlamps, foglamps, etc) and Cold Weather Package (didn't care for that one, but they are all being delivered that way). We were able to talk them down an additional $1200 below the employee discount price. After looking at used WRX's, I'm pretty confident after a couple months this car will actually appreciate. Now that's a first! We also get 2 years free maintenance and a free detail every 6 months for the next 2 years.

We'll be picking it up in a week or two. :D

Congrats! I had no idea the depths to which GM would sink to find buyers (I'm glad I'm not a GM stockholder).

We drove a 92X at the Autoshow in motion and my wife said she hated it. It was too cheap and the body rolled too much. I was really leaning on it, going into corners too hot and then giving it MORE gas to see what it would do (it just went around the corner with no fuss)

She said she would NEVER buy a car like that. It took me a while to convince her to drive it. She tried to go into the corners as fast as I had to try to get it to squeal. She couldn't. The only reason the body was rolling was I was taking the corners twice as fast as she ever would or could.

When we were done, she said "Yeah, I could have one of those".

For $21K it's a much better deal than an SRT-4. At $19K, they are paying YOU to drive it.
