Need a steel front bumper for my GN. Must be in excellent condition / shape.

Might want to put this in the parts wanted forum.

A suggestion would be to check out the local salvage yards around you for a chrome bumper. You can strip the chrome and paint it black for a fraction of the cost.

I didn't know there was a 'parts wanted' forum. I'm new to this site so I wasn't sure what forum this thread was posted to.

I thought about looking for a chrome regal bumper, but the cost to paint or powdercoat it may bring the cost higher than looking for one that is already black I can just bolt on. The GN I recently purchased has a fiberglass front bumper, which is good for weight saving purposes, but if my 5 year old daughter rides with me (which will be almost always) and we get in an accident, the fiberglass won't do anything to protect us. I would rather have safety for my daughter than saving a few pounds off the front.

Thanks for your information!

This is just my experience with buying used parts for my GN so I cant say this happens to everyone BUT, every body part I have ever bought used has had to go straight to the body shop.

You may be able to find a black bumper but if your running a fiberglass then you most likely need the support behind it as well. So your looking at needing a complete bumper which I believe once Brian (Gbody parts) is done moving may have for some amount of money. I dont want to sway you away from buying anything from a sponsor but if you got a connection to a body shop you could get a garbage chrome bumper used complete with support brace for dirt cheap. Dont strip it, just sand the crap out of it to get it rough and then spend a hundred bucks to get it painted.

Just my .02, hope you find what you need.
