I saw it on a GN. It was a spring that went on the end of the detent cable. You set the TV cable like normal. At part throttle the spring would increase line pressure, at WOT the spring would collapse and work like normal. Anybody ever seen one? If so where do you get them?

Sonnax part number AS1-01K-1 (I think). EDIT:NORDBERT BEAT ME TO IT LOL. Check with a trans shop, if they don't have it they can order it. I have one on my car and like it. Obviously no change in WOT, but it gives you a chance to tailor your part throttle shifts a little without preventing true WOT. If you really want to go nuts you can play with both the length and stiffness of the spring to change the "curve" to your liking. I use the original spring cut to about 1/2 of it's original length, giving me a slight boost (similar to one, maybe two clicks of the adjuster). If you use it they way they send it, it makes the very light throttle upshifts really high and quirky. You will need to readjust the cable with it installed. Hope this helps.

And just so you guys know, this is NOT the way to do it.
Those setups are a band-aid fix for bad geometry at the carb or throttle body linkage.

A longer, stiffer spring on the TV plunger will give more aggressive part throttle manners, as will working with the line bias in the VB.

I figured someone would jump in and say this. :D

The reason it went on my car is because when I bought the car I really liked the way it shifted, but I found that the cable was too tight and prevented WOT, which made it impossible to get enough TPS voltage. When adjusted correctly I didn't like the part throttle (maybe I was just used to it by that time) so I added the spring thingy, and after cutting the spring down, it shifts just like it did before and I didn't have to go into the trans. It's just another way of skinning the cat, and cheaper than a shift kit. Kind of a hillbilly shift kit. Similar to the hillbilly trans brake (e-brake), hillbilly slicks (used dirt track tires), and hillbilly octane booster (xylene). All of them work but none are quite as good as the real thing :D .
