Why would you not want an 86? The only difference is the grill has some chrome on it and the fins are closer together. Other then that, there really isnt anything to tell an 86 or 87 a part.

Besides, if you got an 86 you can brag you have the rarer of the two inter-cooled years.

Yea.. I know.. but the 86 had less hp and tq.. but the motors are the same... must a programming difference.

Thats what I am thinking. The nominal increase Buick advertised for the 87 GN could be had in an 86 for just a few bucks. The GNX definately had more power but thats a whole different beast.

I have an 86, and I get ticked when someone says "aaawwweee its only an 86 !?!"

Marketing was the difference, In fact I guarentee if you dyno'd the two there wouldnt be a 10hp and 30ftlb torque difference.

Looks nice from here too, Id consider it for sure.
