I need to get my car repainted. Not just a scuff and spray but it needs to be taken down to bare metal as the factory paint is cracked and faded real bad. Do you guys and gals know of someone around the southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois, or Iowa that does good work. Most places I take the car to want about $10,000 for a show quality job. I don't want a showcar paint job just a nice driver paint job. That still looks great.
My car has no rust and just a few dings in it so I don't know why some places want 10k to paint it. Crazy!
Im looking to spend about 5-6k for a paint job. I would think I should be able to find someone who can do it for that price??
I told some of the places I took it to that I would strip the car of the bumpers, fillers, quarter windows, etc. etc. and they said that they would rather do it to make sure that everything lines up right when reassembled.
