Just looking for some info on the turbo , who did the work to it, will it only fit a 84-85 , and how many miles were on it when i bought it from you. Nothing bad great turbo but i might go bigger in the winter really want 11's now . Thinking about a ta 54 or around that size.

I might save the ta 33 for my little brother and see if he gets one.

thanks, kevin

TA-33

The turbo was built by John Craig and purchased thru GN/T in Sarasota, Florida.

It has approx 3,000 miles on it. Probably a tad less than that considering the car sat more than it was driven. I paid approx $900 for it considering shipping included. I also traded in a low mileage '84 factory GN replacement turbo as a core.

You got a sweet deal for what you paid for it. I'm also a nice guy considering how I saved it for you when so many other folks wanted it :) I'm sure you could easily get what you paid for it from someone else on the list. If your car is going to be used on the street IMO you should stay with the TA-33 as it will meet your perfomance goals with some additional tuning.

Yea your ok in my book, i love the turbo it spools so fast its crazy. How fast will this turbo take me i hear low 12's and thats it. Thanks for writing me with the info

I still fell bad for the long wait to get the money for the turbo.:(

I think it will take me 12.60- 70s now untuned maybe faster 108.5mph should be good for at least that. With a good tune and a race chip i would think low 12's would be no problem. But can the turbo take me that far or in the 11's.

thanks ,kevin

It will get you into the 11's

You have enough mods to get you into the 11's with traction and tuning. The turbo isn't a deterent to that pursuit as it can put you into 24lbs boost "quickly."

I have a Cheetah Stage 3 turbo on my '87 T motor and it is rated very close to the TA-33 in CFM output. Old tech perhaps but works exceptionally well in my application. It's amazing how fast a turbo Buick can be when it isn't venting boost to the atmosphere via broken O-rings.

If you elect to sell the turbo hopefully you'll give a sweet deal to one of the other guys in here and pass that "good guy" feeling along. I took alot of lip from folks over the years who didn't believe in following our motto of "Going Fast with Class" because they felt they were exempt. You know firsthand that I'm very willing to assist another turbo Buick member even when others attempted to buy something that I had earlier promised to you. Loyalty to our hobby goes way beyond gaining a few extra bucks in one's wallet.

I think i might keep it on for now but if i do sell it give these guys a great deal like i do with every thing i sell. This is why i love this site so much i seems that i have more friends on here then i do around my way, every ones out to help thats pretty cool.

Thanks again buddy, kevin

I talked to a guy at the Midwest Challenge that was running 11.50's with the 33 and blue tops. He had a D5 big exhaust, and some minor mods...70psi fuel. Man!, was he flying with virtually no mods.
