Looking for my previously owned GN

Im in the process of trying to locate a specific GN that i prevoiusly owned in the early 90s. I have the VIN# and everything i have found show it went from North Carolina to Pennslyvania , Rhode Island and now it shows somewhere in Wisconson but i have hit a dead end. Does anybody know of any way to locate a current owner (app or website) so that i could reach out and check on the possibilty on re-buying the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Carfax is a good way to narrow down the search to the general area.
