Loss of Power

I recently replaced my plugs and wires on my 87 T-Type. Ensured gaps on plugs and wires were seated and in proper order. Took it out and it ran better then ever. The car sat for a couple of days, when I went to drive it again I noticed a loss of power on the initial acceleration. Other wise the car is running great. I know that this is a shot in the dark question, any ideas or possible checks?

What plugs did you use and what gap setting?

Oh...and you aint runnin' cheap gas in that car, are you, son?

Cheap gas (ARCO) got me once.

So does it bog down, then back to full power? Or loss of power all the way through RPM range?

I put Bosch platinum plugs gaped at .035, and I'm running 92 octane. It doesn't bog down, when I get on it from a stop usually i get a good surge going into second. Enough torque to the rear to make the tires bark, but this is where I noticed the loss of power to the rear I can't seem to get that previouse performance. Is it just me? Otherwise the car is running good.

I'm just learning here, but to quote Red Armstrong's article "Unleashing Performance From Your Turbo Regal":

"For some reason, these cars don't like platinum plugs. I like AC-R43TS's or Autolite 24's gapped at .032" to .035". If your car is running in the 11's in the quarter mile, it might be advisable to use R42TS's or Autolite 23's, same gap."

Hopefully the platinum plugs are the problem. Might also be worth it to change the fuel filter. Good luck!
