Hello Guys.
Often I read on this forum about the th200-4r, how to improve it an make it live.
So I bought one for my car, to replace the old transmission and get an extra gear + lockup.
About 2 weeks ago something went wrong, all of a sudden the car wouldn't accelerate anymore, like the brakes were on.
A few 100 meters later is went back to normal again, but the oil stayed hotter than normal.
After some phone calls to the vendor they shipped me a new servo ring, the old one blew.
So this one was installed, but the band slipped from the servo pin, took a day to figure this out.
I was told that I should push the pin in as far ass possible and rotate the wheels backwards. If they would lockup the band should engage fine.
The wheels are a lot harder to rotate, but don't completely lockup.
I figured that i might not have pushed hard enough and took the car for a spin, still no 2nd gear also first is acting up.
At low speed, very light throttle it works a bit, but as soon as I want to accelerate a bit to normal driving speed it just increases the RPM but not the car speed by much. Finally the car will limp into 3rd and all seems to be fine.
4th + lockup also works.
1 st works when cold, 2nd doesn't work at all.
After the installation i had to get all kinds of pressure readings from the transmission, those were emailed to the company to verify the correct calibration of the TV cable.
This was correctly done.
Now I would like to learn a bit more on what could be wrong.
The easy route of shipping it back to the builder is not really an option since I live in The Netherlands and the company is from CA. The shipping costs would be enough the buy another trans.
Sorry for the long post, but i would really appreciate the help.
In short a 500 mile old trans doesn't work anymore and the TV cable is correctly adjusted from the start.
Thanks
Nick
