Hey guys, just had a ton of work done. 42 injectors, walbro 255,adjustable reg, chip, power plate. Was running amazing for a while and now out of the blue I lost power. I was coming to a stop and it started surging. Off the line it was like it was bogging out. Generally losing power. Here's my scanmaster #s

IN DRIVE
r 800
tps 40
iac 12
mal 00

ats 128

If my scanmaster showed a code that would be easy but its not. I also have a new M.A.F that I got about a year ago

Whats your o2 at idle?
whats your fuel PSI?
I like the TPS at .42 at a minimum with the engine running.

Sounds like possible maf , something fuel system related failing, or a mechanical problem.

M.A.F is new. and I just bought new injectors, fuel pump, regulator, chip hotwire. All from Eric. I'm going to check all connections and 02 readings. I'll be back

New maf from where? If it's a stock style one then even a new one is a cap shoot. The next investment would be a translator and a newer maf style. They are proven don't leave you stranded and very rarely die. If you have that make sure all dip switches are set correctly.

Easy way to tell is unplug the maf and see how it runs.

Check maf pipe and intercooler connections.

Rick

I got the M.A.F from kirban. Been working great so far but if it was the M.A F wouldn't it throw a code on my Scamaster? Code #33 I think.
No malfunctions on scanmaster.

Still learning my scanmaster. I think this is the o2 reading in drive at idle.
Cycles between 450-535
Sorry I think that's it.

I'm with Rick. If unmetered air is getting into the engine it will act like that. Check all the connections from the MAF to the throttlebody. If all the connections are good check the fuel pressure.

I'll check it in the morning. Too frustrated right now. Thanks for the advice gentlemen.

I brought it to my G.N Mech. He came to the conclusion that the problem isn't what I originally thought. He said it was a sloppy transmission. He said a Valve body would cause what seems like a loss of power and surging because the tranny is searching for a gear. He also said when the tranny heats it will seem worse. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a mechanic but does that seem right to you folks?
Thanks

P.S I had him check all connections and hoses and everything was good. Just a coincidence I had all this work done Injectors, chip, fuel pump, hot wire and it ran amazing for about a month.......

Hard to tell from the info and no video or pics. I will admit that if you strengthen a motor and leave a tired tranny attached to it, the motor can make mince meat of the tranny. How's the fluid look? Nice pretty bright red? Or ugly dark brownish red? Smell burnt?

The Maf is a lot cheaper than a tranny. Do you know anyone with a tr nearby that would swap with you? If your Maf is bad, it make their car run crappy. And if your car runs better with a known good Maf, you might have found your problem.

Fluid looked good from what he told me. No burnt smell.. Weird because I only have 56,000 miles on it. I understand it 27 years old but....
No a lot of people have turbo Buicks on S.I . I do all the local shows and it seems i'm the only Grand National there. .... This is frustrating
Nobody I know has a GN.

Problem solved !!!!!!!!!! TCC Solenoid. The power loss I felt wasn't engine related . It was tranny related. Installed a new solenoid and all is well... Shifts are better than before . Very happy. Thanks for all the input guys. Screw this I'm going for a drive.
