There's a lot of guys out there that have made monster engines on that platform. There are some issues with oiling the right side of the lifter valley/cam, but it's not a complicated fix.

Nice score for a hundred bucks.

It's the 291 blocks that the oil gallies need machine work right? the 484 is just like a TB block if I'm not mistaken. The heads are 8445 heads also.

Call Nick Micale (on the board here) and ask him what you have. He's a big 4.1 fan. Knows them pretty thru and thru.

Call Nick Micale (on the board here) and ask him what you have. He's a big 4.1 fan. Knows them pretty thru and thru. 602.750.9621, he will return your call.

He has/had one that goes high 9's all day long and has helped build many more that ran solid low 10's. He's 82 now, so he's slowed down a little. His brain is still clicking off 9's every day, though.

Some here have had issues with him in the past, but you can't please all the people, all the time, (That's not my problem, so stay out of here with your whining) yet Nick still has a BUNCH of knowledge to give.

This guy, who stumbled on a good deal, doesn't need your complaining BS. This is a knowledge/advice thread. You haters need to stay out and give this guy a chance to learn.

If you don't like what is being said here, go elsewhere with your Nick complaints.

OP, you will soon understand, or not....

If you want knowledge, call Nick.
