Want to build the GN to be a low 12 second street car for next year. Will up the ante in another year for high 11's.

Anyone in those brackets - please share your combo. I have the 12 second recipe from gnttype, but would like to see some other examples.

thanks a million.

I have more but this should get you there:
Large neck on the Inner Cooler
50 lb injectors (could go less but these will take you a long way)
Walbo 340 fuel pump - hot wired
alky system - with alky chip
drag radials
test pipe
scantool to tune with
That should get you close
other things that would make it easier would be
Boxed LCA
ATR swaybar
large stock location IC
TH style DP

How about,

Ta-49
36lbs Blue Tops
Big-neck intercooler
S.M.C. alky kit
20* chip

12.11 @ 110 :D

That's it , no throttle body, intake , heads, nothing.

And it's a Limited with sway bars, A.C. etc.......

Really the overall power and MPH needed would depend on how sticky the tires will be for using at the track.

Takes a bit more power on drag radials at a so-so track especially at elevation.

Depends a bit on weight of the street car too.

I'd build one combo. for hitting the high 11's absolutely NO need to change much from the low 12 combo.

Ported heads are most likely the biggest way to make some big gains so save that as your last mod. as they do require more work and money, a good stage II part of the buildup.

Alky. is the way to go for a mostly stock motored street car.

Just my .02.

With stock turbo and mods in sig except I had 40# inj I pulled a 7.83 1/8th, probably good for about a 12.2 or 12.3 in the 1/4. The 1/4 time was from year before last, hadn't been back to the 1/4 track in a while. Now I have the 65#inj tuned in and some ET streets I'm looking to beat that 7.83 next weekend.
Mods will get you no where without proper tuning though.

Here's mine, It will go much faster than the times listed with the boost cranked, but I ran the times/mph shown in street trim at 17 psi. If I can get it out of the hole a little quicker There's a low 12 in 110mph no problem. Good luck!

Stock turbo (ported)
Stock intercooler (Dutt neck)
Stock replacement injectors (30# green stripe)
Stock internals, throttle body, intake
3" downpipe with stock elbow
Test pipe
Flowmaster exhaust
Walbro 340 fuel pump - hot wired
Scan tool
High stall convertor
Underdrive pulley
No front sway bar
28" ET Streets
100 octane unleaded
100 octane chip from Turbotweak
21lbs boost

My best is 12.4@106, car has been 12.2. I think I can get a 12.0-12.1 in cool weather. After control arms and sway bar upgrades, looking for high 11's in cool weather.

NO NEED to try to do a low 12 and then an 11 sec build.

If you need a turbo go for a big one like a 70.
When the heads come off do them up or aftermarket as doing up the stockers is not cheap.
At one time the only injector change was stock to 50's - no point in something in-between. Now there seems to be some big injectors that do not require ECM mods.

FUEL
TURBO
INJECTORS
HEADS
DP/EXHAUST
INTERCOOLER
TORQUE CONVERTER
TIRES

Don't try to buy over and over unless you wish to just help keep the economy going. As old as these cars are gettin', there will always be something needed

TE-44, MSD 50's, THDP, Thunder Fab intercooler, race tire,s race gas, race chip, scan master, experience at the track and a lot of boost. This also makes a great street combo with a lower timing chip and 100UL or alky.

good for low 12's

hey guys

my combo was

te-34
modded stock I/C
30lbs inj
Banas performance chip
alky inj
flowmaster exhaust
Bowling green customs 3" SS DWN pipe

i ran a 8.14 @ 85.5 mph with a 1.76 60ft @ 21psi on street tires on stock GN wheels

Then i changed from the ****ty flowmaster exhaust to the ATR crossflow and i picked my 1/8 mile mph to 88.1 after the exhaust changed i took it to the track i gain in mph but with the DS on i found out my injectors were @ 106 % DC with the alky running hard :)

i'm curious to see what it will do with the new inj 55's baby then i swapped out the wheels and got some weld draglites.

i hope to hit the high 7's next time out

check out my DS files

my car with:

stock turbo (ported)
stock injectors (flowed and balanced)
Big Neck IC
9x11" TC (2800)
Janis Trans
340 hotwired
SMC Alky
3" DP and Hooker Duals
Thrasher 108

went 12.30's@110 without a posi, thru the exhaust.

Stock turbo
Stock intercooler w/ stock neck
42 # injectors
Stock internals, throttle body, intake
3" downpipe
XP fuel pump - hot wired
Stock converter
10x26 ET Drags
K&N filter
22 psi boost

My best is 12.01 @111 but consistant 12.1's.

ks:cool:

In street trim on 93 octane and alky mine will go 12.00 at around 115. This is with a 2.1 60' on drag radials. The car has the potential for high 10's, I just haven't pushed it that hard. Haven't even had it to the track with racegas with this setup.

My brothers T has a little te 60 alky and supporting mods with a bone stock longblock and is running mid 12s on street tires at around 110 on pump gas and alky. With some slicks and race gas he may be able to hit high 11s. He just got a 100 turbo tweak chip, so he may be able to hit 11s on alky.

TA49
Mease Big-Neck IC (which I personally feel isn't worth anything)
Blue tops
Mease 3" DP w/testpipe
Hooker catback
2800 12" L/U (broke stock converter at E-town on DR's!)
VP110 with Turbotweak chip, convertor lock at ~75mph at WOT
26/10.5 ET Streets
Bone stock untouched longblock and 100% stock suspension with no air bags, full weight 3686 with driver and over 1/4 tank of fuel.

About 20 12.0-12.1 @113-115mph (with ~1.7 short times) slips in a little over a year.
I've upgraded a bit since then. ;)

Previous car.

140,000+ stock long block
ported stock turbo
Dutt neck on stock intercooler
28lb injectors
postons down pipe with stock elbow
flowmaster duel 2 3/4 inch cat back
test pipe
hot wired 340
Adjustable f/p regulator
adjustable w/g
unknown street chip?
vig 3200 non-lock converter
Worn out 28x11.5x15 M/T ET streets, needed an air bag bad!
no front sway bar.
3525lbs with driver
20 psi boost with good gas

12.26@110.x with 1.71 60ft, more in it with some tuning.

New owner said it had a bad maf.
