I just put my new turbo on (GT6131E) and when I give gas in first gear the most boost I see is about 5psi. When it shifts to second gear the boost will slowly start climbing up to about 8psi (looks like I am watching a tachometer in overdrive). What could be the problem? Wastegate actuator hose on wrong? Could someone help? thanks.

I had that prob. so I started looking, couldn't find any thing,if adjustable wastegate, try tighten it down.my turbo was very tight, stated boosting, hope this was helpful :)

Ok well I tightened it down and I'll check if it boost in a little bit but I also noticed my scanmaster is throwing code 31 which is a wastegate solenoid pulsing problem. How do I fix that?

Ok, well I got it to boost to 13 pounds after tightening the wastegate a little bit. However, since I don't want to start a new thread I also have some other questions. My o2's are all over the place on the scanmaster. They will range from 020 to 770. When the car is idling it will range from 375-630. Is it supposed to range that much or is my o2 sensor on it's way out? Also, my IAC values are 12-14 at idle. Is that good or bad? And finally, how do you adjust fuel pressure? because my fuel pressure at idle is like 37-ish and I took the vacuum hose off and it was a little above 40, but what do I do after that? I turned the little screw at the top but it either came loose and did nothing or I tightened it and it still did nothing. What exactly do you mess with for that?

http://www.gnttype.org/maint/quickref.html O2 numbers will fluctuate, your concern is WOT reading which should be in the area of .780. Your FP is adjusted w/vac line off, again somewhere around 40 to 45lbs.Reinstalling vac line on FPR will show a lower reading than what was set.Tie wrap this vac line to FPR. FPR may need tweaked alittle to achieve WOT range.

Well, when I am in WOT the O2's are fluctuating throughout the entire range like I said. Also, I know that I am supposed to adjust FP with the vacuum line off but how do I adjust it? Like physically make the fp go up or down?

WOT readings w/scanmaster? Push and hold r/h button to obtain lowest WOT numbers.Turn screw/bolt on top of FPR in to increase fuel pressure, vac line off of course.

Well the highest I can get the fuel pressure with the vacuum line off is 40 psi ( was there even before I turnedthe screw in), and it's only 36-37 psi with the vacuum line on.

FPR may be damaged, pin hole in diaphram or bad injector. After you shut car off how long does pressure reading stay? Its possible your gauge is bad. Fuel pump may be on way out, fuel filter needs changed. Try the easy things first.

After I turn the motor off the pressure stays for 10-15 minutes or so. It slowly goes down to zero over the course of an hour or two.

Shut off pressure should stay in the 20 to 30 minute range.Youre close,Try FPR if you have a spare or a good loaner. What type of fuel pump are you using?Hope its not a stocker.

Well the fuel pump I am not sure of. Yes, I am ordering one and checking that when I have the time. It is hotwired though and when I was given the car I was given a Walboro GSS340M pump all by itself? So maybe he was about to put that in the car until he sold it?

If its the stock unit, thats probably your problem. Not sure of your mileage but its most likely tired too.

Hey Baller, I'm having the same issues, turbo wise. I just installed a new turbo and i can't seem to see over about 5-8lbs either. I think my exhast and cat are restricting me, but before i swapped turbos(due to a leaky seal) i was still getting around 15lbs with the same exhaust (turbo seal leaking and all). Is there anyone out there who has experienced this??
