I was putting my dash cluster back in - I noticed the bulb & the housing it sits in was missing in the slot for the Low Fuel Light. So I put in another when I put the dash back in. Then I quickly noticed that it DID NOT shut off. That's probably why the previous owner took it out.

Any ideas why it doing that & is it an easy fix. I don't really need the Low Fuel Light, but would be nice to know how to fix it if I want to one day.

Thanks in advance!

our cars didnt have low fuel light
the riviera did and the clusters are similar and it didnt use a bulb but rather a module with a bulb on it
if you wanted to you could get a low fuel module from a riviera and twist it into the hole behind the low fuel indicator

Does your car have an ALKY kit on it?
i would guess no because he stated he put a bulb in where the module goes and that hole is not for a bulb as the terminals are the fuel level voltage for the module . putting a bulb there it will remain on and may vary intensity with fuel level

The low fuel light isn't just a bulb... it is a module with some resistors as shown in the pics.
May explain why it is always on...

Thanks for all the info. It's good to know. I'm not too worried about it at time time. Just thought there was something wrong. I appreciate the input.
