Has anyone had a 3.5" LT1 MAF die? And do you think this is a continuity problem or a sensor problem? I'm afraid to drive the car now.

A year ago I was driving along car running fine and all of a sudden it started missing and bucking like when my original MAF and stock replacement MAF's went bad. The car then died completely and wouldn't restart. I unplugged the Gen ll translator and plugged it back in and the car ran normally. I put cable ties around the connectors to hold them in the plug tightly.

Everything was fine until 2 weeks ago when it happened again. The cable ties had been removed from the Translator since I had done some work in the area and had it removed. I unplugged the translator and plugged it in and all was fine. I squeezed all the female pins to make sure contact was good, plugged it back in and Put cable ties on again.

Yesterday I was 100 miles from home when it happened again. This time I unplugged the MAF and plugged it back in and all was fine for 30 miles and it happened again. Same scenario, disconnected the MAF and reconnected it car started up, closed the hood car died! Repeated and the car started and I drove home.

The Gen2 hardwired or plug and play harness? Any ce light when it happens?

Check the ecm plugs for corrosion. Also remove the chip and re tension the contacts.

Plug and play. No lights and no codes. I'll check the ecm and the chip. The calpac has never been removed so I'll pull that and check it as well. I'm also going to hardwire the MAF and eliminate an extra connector.

wiggled the wires near the plug and play harness and the car died. I removed the harness and hardwired the MAF connector to the stock wiring. Problem solved. Thanks.
