I'm stumped..took the new TTA to get emissions tested and it failed.
Swapped out the ECM with my other TTA so I could run Direct Scan on it, I see the MAF reads 0 g/s at idle, and only goes up by 17...17 to 34 to 51 as I accellerate!
All of the BLMs are setting at 136 after I reset the ECM and even after changing chips, the "BATT" light on Direct Scan also keeps blipping on/off.
Have no troubles codes either.
I swapped out MAFs, no change, I've swapped ECMs and chips, no change....have no idea where to go next??

I moved everything back to my other car and get the same results...so I'm thinking the ECM is bad once again in the Ttop car and the TurboTeak chip that was in the hardtop car is open loop at idle causing it to fail emission....going back now with original ECM and my own street chip...

Took it back with the original ECM and my chip and it passed easily..only 22 and 25 HCs compared to 500+ HCs before.

I think now the issue with the MAF reading 0 and 136 BLMs is with the Direct Scan hardware box....plugged the laptop into the GN which has a different hardware box and it read fine.

Took another ECM and cleaned the ribbon cable plug off on it and plugged it up and the same result with 0 and 136....
So, different ECM, different chip, different cars and all combos thereof...same result of 0 MAF at idle and 136 BLMs.

I've seen this before.....If the direct scan is not sitting perfectly on the ECM edge (not too far on, or off), it can show zero as the value for different sensors.

I had a buddy's car that kept showing zero on the VSS, once we adjusted the direct scan...it read normal.

Another reason to go with a powerlogger....:)

2 things in regards to Directscan.

1. Make sure the edge connector on the ECM is clean
2. Get a toothpick and sit in the Directscan connector push it down with a small screwdriver, this will keep the connector from going on too far which is another issue that can cause false readings.

HTH

Yeah I tried it with the cable on at different positions. I have a small zip tie end pushed down in the connector to keep it from going on too far, but I'll play with it some more this w/e.

My experience with the Powerlogger was pretty disappointing on a friends car, playback and the readouts were aweful I thought, but maybe he didn't have ot onfigured right. I messed with it for an hour trying to playback and record and gave up, DS is so much more intuitively obvious and easy to use, and with the Inovate Aux box, I can record boost and all the 5v inputs the PL can.

ok, I swapped the interface box out with the one in the my GN that works fine, same issue.
I swapped out the ribbon cable same issue...tried a different ECM, a different chip..all the same issue.
Finally pulled the parallel cable out of the other car that connects from the interface box to the printer port and viola..works fine.
The parallel cable is bad!
