I need to know how to run a lock up switch for the converter. The tranny is a 2004r, I swapped it out for my broken brf, but it only has 3 pins in the 4 pin connector. I've tried to do research on how to do this but no luck. The thing is the 4 pin connecter does not fit, so I need to know how to run a manual switch to lock the converter directly to the tranny. Can somebody please shed light on this, the tranny shifts really well without the lock up, but as I've read it will not gain proper cooling with out the converter locked up. I dont want to break this one. So if you can, yell at me on how to run a lock up switch directly from the transmission plug. Thanks :)

12 volts to terminal a all the time and a toggle swith between d and chassis ground will lock the converter in 2/3 and 4th.it is prohibited in first because the lock up solenoid is only fed supply oil from and open 1/2 shift valve.

which one is which

terminal a on the tranny would be top left? and d would be bottom left? thanks for the help chris, that other tranny was shot, this one works good, just dont have the four pins in the plug, that is why I need this info. So which one is which, a and d?

a paperclip between pin f (top left corner ) on the aldl connector and the pin A (top right corner ) when trans shifts to 2nd it will lockup

or connect from pin F of aldl to a switch then to ground and either lock it at line or choose whenever you want by switching it on during the run and see what the car likes

the terminals are labeled.pacecar is correct but from the sig i figured you had a transplant so idint mention the aldl

transplant

I have the complete interrior, but leather and suede :D and everything the we-4 had, but much more. The thing is the tranny is not the brf, I had to take it out, since the t66 kicked its butt  the tranny now is a 2004r, but the plug on the original harness of the gn wont plug in since its a tranny out of another car. The plug coming off the tranny only has three pins out of four! thats the problem, thats where i'm asking which one is what, and how can I wire the converter? thanks guys. Remember, my factory gn tranny plug will not plug in. How do I wire the female connector on the tranny with the three pins? to lock up.

anybody?

somebody has to know how to connect some wires directly to the female plug of the tranny to get the converter to lock? but I dont :D

, heres the diagram of the TR setup
on the tR harness for TCC to operate
fused 12v supply (pin A) purple
ground (pin D),tan/blk

the other two are for letting the ecm know what gear you are in
3rd gear switch (pin C) dk grn/wht
and 4th gear switch (pin B) light blue

your trans not being a BRF is wired differently as you can see in the diagram of the various wiring used in 2004rs
drop the pan would seem the easiest way to know what you have inside

either way as chris first pointed out A and D are for lockup
connect A+D from your harness to A + D at tranny and you should be good

ok

so should I run some jumpers from the factory plug into the a and d terminals, or should I run jumper wires into the actual plug on the tranny to a switch. and if I have to run a switch, would grounding them together lock it up, or adding power? sorry guys, i'm a little confused. thanks
