manual valve body?

I just picked up a 87 GN from a used car dealer. He didnt know much about the car. Its 100% stock except for a manual valve body. The car does not downshift by itself, slams pretty good when going from neutral to drive at a stop, and i absolutely hate it. The car also seems to want to go more than usual when in D at a stop. How hard it to change and find a new or used stock valve body if this is in fact true what the guy tells me. Thanks alot.

valve body repalcement will take about 1 to 2 hours.we have the valve body as well as a tech manual for the jobb.

What the cost of the valve body. New or used? Doesnt really matter to me. Ide rather buy a used one since they dont really go bad i dont think and save some $. Thanks.
