for some reason, no. pretty much every other GM efi equipped vehicle ever built uses the MAP sensor, but the turbo Buick doesn't.

its very difficult to get accurate fuel air mixtures with a MAP sensor system it also limits total amount of Cam and Mods, the MAF system on the other had is much much more accurate - especially in a turbo car and can modified in more ways.

A.j,
I agree to some extend. ;)
All the aftermarket and piggyback systems, including the TurboTweak SD chip are Speed Density and run off the MAP, MAT and WB.
So your statement is correct; With "just a MAP", it is difficult.
Add the other two sensors, and it just got a whole lot easier.

Also .........
If you never intent on running Progressive Alky injection, or PL, and don't care about logging data and/or the very notoriously inaccurate stock in-dash X-mas boost lights ............. than remove the MAP.

most other factory efi systems use both a MAP and a MAF together.
the more inputs you give the computer, the more accurately it can decide what to do next.
