I am going to be in College Park Maryland the week of 13 thru 17. Anyone know of anything to do in the surrounding area?? Thanks.

Go visit the College Park Airport...it's the oldest operating airport in the United States....the Wright Brothers actually landed and took off on this field...and at the museum, they have one fine, cool restaurant with WW I settings....nice food, and real nice people....this airport is historic...give it a shot...worth a visit....I've been there a few times with my brother, and we met "Sky King" there, got his autograph, my brother flew in a plane there, and we went there to celebrate my Mom and Dad's anniversary at the restaurant.....Dad ranted and raved about it for months and the visit was really worth it...the museum has neat airplanes on display...even Charles L. landed there!

So many, you are only 10 minutes from D.C. Some of the best restaurants and sites there. Only 15 minutes from Baltimore, and the Orioles have 4 home games that week. Cheap tickets and plenty to do downtown.

There's an IKEA!

Depends on what you're interested in seeing. As mentioned, you're a stone's throw from DC. The Smithsonian museums are all free. The National Zoo (a part of the Smithsonian) is also free. One of my favorites is the Udvar Hazy museum out at Dulles Airport. This is an annex of the air and space museum and features a space shuttle (Enterprise), the Enola Gay, a Concorde and an SR-71 that starred in the movie Transformers. Just be careful what time of the day you try to go over there. College Park goes right through the notorious DC beltway and at the wrong time of day, it can be a parking lot. But this is also the way to Dulles.

Not sure what you're 'interested' in. If you gave an idea, I could suggest more places.
