Maxing out MAF/is it possible

this is going to be somewhat hard to word but my best analogy is can you max out a MAF sensor with air like fuel injectors can be maxed with fuel. I mean watching a scan tool I know that it is designed to lock to 255 at WOT. Here is my main question/point, If the stock airflow is calibrated to a certain amount of max flow can it not register the extra intake flow that a larger turbo is providing. (Im guessing) that the larger MAFs not only relieve pressure but they also can handle registering more CFM? is that an accurate thought. It seems that the stock is a bottle neck at a point seeing as a stock turbo flows in the high 300s for CFM from what im told and the pt 61/42 im using now is at 930. In a nutshell, can there be too much flow for a mass air flow to measure or measure accuratly and therefor need to be upgraded to a higher flow / larger diameter MAF. thanks p.s. sort of like a 2 bar sensor can only measure so much so you go to a 3 bar
 
The factory coding in the chip is the bottleneck. A newer maf won't enable the stock chip/ecu to "see" more air. This is why most chips lock the WOT air reading and enable the user to scale the fuel tables. Look into the extender chips. They allow the stock ecu to see up to 750 grams of air to enable WOT fuel correction. The search button should answer all of your questions regarding this.
 
i mean i have a turbo tweak 5.6 matched to injectors are you just saying that that is what adding the fuel is in THAT chip to compensate for?
 
The stock ECU cannot measure/read/calculate ANY number larger than 255. In most cases this is not a terrible limitation, except in the mass airflow readings.
If the ECU stops reading airflow at 255, then it's very difficult for it to continue adding fuel.
You'd have to start adding fuel on your best guess through the chip you have.

The Extender chips have a unique algorythm with in that in very simple terms, allows the ECU to measure airflows beyond the 255 internal limit.

That way you don't have to try to guess how much fuel to add. The ECU adds to match the higher airflows it's now seeing.

The stock chip was designed to provide more fuel once the 255 MAF limit was reached by Power Enrichment trim tables. These are fuel adjustments based on rpm (once PE is reached).
