can pistons be changed without having to pull the engine? The reason i ask is i had my engine pulled and replaced alot of stuff with better parts, but i regret not changing the pistons so i was curious if it could be done or do they usually pull the engine.

thanks, and dont laugh if this is a dumb question,
Joshua

Not that this helps, but...

Not sure if it can be done on ours, but I've seen it done on a Caddy 4.1 engine. Dropping the oil pan, crank, and pulling them out thatta way...

Yes....you can we did mains bearings and rod bearings in the car. You would have to jack the engine up high enough to get the rod and piston out of the bottom. However why would you want to, you could yank the engine in a few hours of hard work and work more comfortable.
