Still very happy with mine. I've had a Mafless setup since their beginning. As far as documentation goes, Steve provides everything you need to understand how to adjust the various parameters within the Max E R. Steve's support of the Max E system is excellent and many times will call you on his dime to see how you are doing with it. He also get's back to your emails or phone calls in a very timely manner. He has set up a bulletin board available (for Max E R users) to compare notes, as well as ask questions about their setup.
The Max E R mafless setup is in many ways similar to a Fel Pro or Fast system in the fact that it allows a LOT of adjustability. This is a great advantage to the experienced tuner. In the same sense, if you ore not an experienced tuner, and are just learning about the Turbo Buicks, this freedom to tune in your system can also allow you to "shoot yourself in the foot"
For the average Joe who is running 12s and slower, there is really no need for the Mafless setup. It is designed for experienced racers who are going low 11s and "much" faster.
Even though it can support cars at the low 10 to 9 sec level, I have found that on my low 11 sec combo that it can also be very street friendly and my personal street setup with it is much better both in driveability, and gas mileage than with previous "fixed chip" setups.
Most all of the folks I know who have ran the Max E system whether mafless or conventional have been very happy with theirs, and continue to use it to this day. Maybe the reason that you dont hear a lot about it lately is that satisfied customers seldom make a lot of noise.
thanks,
Dwight Hayden
