Hey everyone,

In the future, I will be purchasing a TR and syclone and wanted to know are there any shops/mechanics you recommend in the OC or southbay? Vehicles such as these I don't trust to my regular mechanic. I want to have all my ducks in a row before I get started.

Thanks everyone...already getting a good feeling about this site...want to learn as much as I can on what to do with TRs...

Lou is putting together a nice stock white Turbo Regal. Can't do much better than to buy one blessed by the local Pope of Turbo Buicks himself:D

I'd make the sale contingent on having Lou take a look at it.

Or at least, let Meanchicken drive it for a week before you buy it. If it'll survive that week, it'll last forever.:D

A few of us are getting together for a free car show/tech sesion/BBQ on the 30th in Huntington Beach. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/south-western-area/342612-thinking-doing-cool-car-show.html It would be a good chance for you to see first hand, many of the cars and people who post here. Should be a few cars for sale too.

You make it sound like Meanchicken has gone through a few TRs before:biggrin:
Definitely down for BBQ, just tell me what I need to bring. It would be good to get up close and personal with some TRs. I have a lot of questions. Keep me updated on the show.

Thanks guys for the recommendation. I don't have a problem working on TR's of course & I have a nice one for sale soon. Cyclones & typhoons I don't get involved with as I have always managed to keep busy enough with TR's.

Koo...who knows I will probably like the Buick so much, I'll have 2:biggrin:

I've owned just the one in my sig...for 3.5 years... but I'm a real world Turbo Buick torture chamber.

I drive it daily, I drive it hard (stroll through the kill section and look over the posts over the last 3.5 years...) and the only reason why it's still in one piece and been so reliable is I had Lou build and install the motor, and then I followed his advice to the letter on the combo and how to keep it alive.

Props to SPOOLFOOL2 for helping to teach me how to safely set the tune using DirectScan data, and to various others who have given me helpful advice over the last few years too. You've found a great board and community.

Lou's also got a real good transmission guy which is important to have for these cars once you start upping the HP and lowering the ET's.;)

WOW! I'm checking out the kill section right now. Man, I don't know why I didn't pickup a TR as my first car. I 've been wanting one since I saw it back in '87. When BAY BUICK and GMC was still around they had a blk GN on the showroom floor, it sucks my mom was test driving for a Somerset. UGH!!!!!! I see you also have my other dream car...When we meet up, can I get a ride in the SS?

Just finished reading the kill stories...Thank you for taking out the fart buckets (WRXs, EVOS, and whatever else falls). I enjoy the fact you keep the GN looking stock. Can't wait to have one of my own.

The SS has a bent axle right now....cortesy of a curb I found with the drivers side rear tire after running out of talent while doing a smokey John Force Burn out on a favored back street and short shifting into 3rd at full throttle when already sideways...
I almost pulled it off....
Bent the axle, tattered the rim, cut the tire and cracked the brake rotor...
I have the new axle and rotor....tires and new rims are on order....hope to have it rolling again in a few weeks.

LOL

Kids and and their toys.

I need to find a real good wheel balancer. Having my DS straightened and balanced took out the low speed vibration but a speed run yesterday it comes back at 110 and by 130 is pretty bad.

That's something else I'm gonna fix on the Camaro while I'm working on the rear axle. I put these CE Traction bars on there a couple years back and picked up a vibration. The problem is the bar snubbers can't be trimmed short enough to create the needed gap that should be between the snubber and the leaf spring eye, so I feel all the road vibration translating right up into the car. It's most apparent at speeds over 60mph and beyond that it's there regarless of speed.
The bars really didn't do anything for improving the traction anyway....and they look Joe Dirt and hang too freakin' low...
