first off let me say that my research into this DIY EFI is still in its beginning stages, but for what i want it seems about perfect, its is a no frills system built by 2 electrical engineers that were upset with the current prices for fuel injection systems, and designed a system and software to support it and since then others have come up with more programming, before you look at the DIY look at the site, i was sceptical at first, still am, but it is not for someone that wants a bolt on half day project, but those that have the know how, want for an inexpensive system( about 250 for an fully programable ecu, its own version of a scanmaster, real time computer simulated gauge display, short preiod data logging and so on) its just about perfect for me. i do not need all the bs that comes with the systems that cost a few thousand, they are comming up with a distrubuterless system based off the ford system ( and before you knock the ford part of it, read the info, it is truly an amazingly easy system to put on a custom setup) i am going to use a non lockup trans, seperate boost controller, switch for fans and so on, so its what i want, but for nothing more than some reading and the posibility of seeing how an ecu works check out the infromation on the site, i think you will be interested.

I'm way too lazy to do it but always thought it would be neet to put a turbo on my tow vehicle. Which is actually my wifes 1998 Dodge ram 4x4 with a 318 V8. Problem is I wonder what some one would have to do about the injection set up. Maybe some thing like this would be the ticket. I better drop the idea now before my wife kicks my a$$.

i did some more research because i am very interested in this, first off Car Craft ran it on a dyno to test this system that they built themselves, and if it wasn't for all the problems with other stuff it would of ran great right off the bat, but they took it to dutwielers shop and dyno, and a 355 with 9:1 and a stock tpi intake made 379hp and 400+ ftlbs of tq, pretty much par with all the other systems, but when they were having problems they kept thinking that it was the ECU, but the ECU can also ahve a simulator built that costs 40 bucks that will simulate all the engine inputs so you can test the system, and it checked ok, and after they figured out that they somehow put a solid lifter in place of a hydraulic one it ran great. the DIS ignition requires only a free program in addition to the free fuel program, and one wire is soldered to the board to control the advance of the ignition, which can be 4 6 or 8 cylinder and all it requires is the stock module, one stock coil for a 4 or 6 cyl car and 2 for a 8 cyl and the 36 tooth wheel with pickup to have fully programmible timing curve based off rpm and MAP readings, can retard for boost and has a fuel cutoff if wanted, and any msd box made for the ford EDIS ignition can be used, ordered a kit, and when i get back to the states next week i am going to build it, to include the DIS ignition and will take pictures and log the progress, i am going to install it on my 93 caprice 305 since i have many cars and will let those interested know how it works, i have many guys here and friends at home that has had the price keep them from injecting cars, but there is an amazing wealth of knowlage out there on this system, but it is not for the novice like all aftermarket injections, it is more of a race setup due to the lack of outputs for transmission controls and such, but i will keep those who ould like up to date on how it works.
