A few weeks ago, I removed the metal windshield trim that runs along the bottom to sand and repaint it. Was there some kind of sealant like silicone from the factory to keep water from getting in behind there? If not, do people worry with this at all and put a bead of silicone to keep the moisture out?

Thanks,
Don

I am not sure if there was or not, but mine didn't have anything when I refinished it over the summer. If water gets behind it, it is just going to run down the firewall. The place you need to worry about is making sure the heater box is sealed at the top.
