I have a PAC system installed and want to relocate the maf to pre-throttle body, will the methanol/alcohol kill the maf?

Thanks,
Jerry

Spray after MAF not through it. Alcohol will mess up the MAF if you spray through it.

Razor,

Any suggestions as to where to locate the nozzle, maybe in the upper intake?? Don't know, but maybe the maf could be located an inch or two back from the throttlebody??

Thanks

i had been running my LT1 MAF just before the TB ,when i went alky it needed to move . i thought about putting it right before the nozzles but it looked ugly and you run the risk of blowback when lifting hard since the alky will still be spraying out of the nozzle
ended up moving it down to the outlet of the front mount under the rad support

oh FYI dont use the breeze clamps for the hoses , they wont hold , youll need good T-bar clamps

Man I sell a lot of kits to the Vette guys.. and they put nozzles inches in front of the MAF.. no issue. Rite in the silicone coupler before the throttle body. You can put it in the plenum, but a solenoid will be needed.. hose.. and electrical moduel/wiring.

I dont have Data on the Buick in this reguard.. only one way to find out..

Razor,

A couple more questions please....

1) Isn't the alky nozzle supposed to be "aimed" into the incoming air, if so how could it be installed in the silicone coupler? That would be like a 1/2 inch, right?

2) Why would a solenoid/moduel/wiring be needed if mounted in the upper plenum?

3) Could the maf be placed at the intercooler outlet? Stock i/c that is.

1.. No aiming required.

2.. Cannot place nozzle where vacuum is present. After the throttlebody is vacuum..it will draw the liquid out of the line when throttleblade is closed.

3.. I think placing MAF after a stock IC is .. I dont want to write explicatives..

Better yet.. its like this.. if you have extensive tuning knowledge and abilities.. then experimenting with ideas like this gives you something to play with. If you dont have the ability to burn your own chips, have wide band data, and dont have tons of experience tuning a V6 turbo Buick engine.. Leave the car alone.. Cars run great when kept simple and are tuned.

I'm out.. you need data I dont have.. your going to have to subject the engine to experimentation to obtain it. Good Luck.

I was told either by you or someone at your phone number to "aim" the
nozzle INTO the incoming air when I installed the PAC kit I purchased from
you!

Okay.

There are a lot of people who has move the maf to the up pipe and did not
require major tuning.

You been around hot rods very long??? Telling a hot rodder to leave the car
alone is like telling you to not sell alky kits and everyone to "leave the car
alone"! :>)

Sorry I bothered you bubba!
