on my old setup.....

60-1 turbo
ported heads

comp cam 212
smc alky

11.50 @118

BTW.. I only run on BFG's currently.. those are the ones mounted on my wheels.

I thought cam and heads = 10's..

Well thats what appears to be the belief. :D

I thought cam and heads = 10's

If you are running 11.6 now, heads and a cam won't get you a crack at 10.99?

Heads are a major mod.

An engine is an air pump right? Air in and air out?

I doubt heads would help much on pump gas/alky. Remember ported heads give you power but also allow you to make the same power with lower boost. If you were running race gas different story.

Julio,no offence but I doubt youll be able to run 30 psi with your new ported heads and alky. Then again, what the hell do I know:D

Dude.. 30 PSI is forever gone with the new setup..I run 30 PSI with those heads, I'll split the block.

I have a small turbo boost compensator system going in place..

Say hello to my little freind.. Mr. Shark nozzle fed by a big white tank.. I hope I can get the tune figured out in two weeks time. Just a 100-125 shot..

All I want is a 10.99 then I gets the Boots for not having a cage.. So I can sit back and watch all you guys lay down the numbers..

Ok time to wake up.. reality sits in.. can it be done on 93 octane fuel ???? Dunno... dunno.

11.95 in 108* heat on 93 no alky with a spinning 1.89 60' on worn out et streets.Oh and I drove it 2 hours to the track.

To run 11.8 with a 1.89 60 foot means the car has to trap 118 on 93 octane with a small shaft turbo, full weight, etc.. very impressive.

One thing tho, the ET's listed are done long ago.. by cars that no longer exist in that state. So the chance of these 7 showing up at the event in March is slim too none ;)

So actually you only have two TTA's.. and the rest of the guys are running high 11's.. not mid 11's.

Told ya the class would be competitive..

Where are the 10 second cars on 93 octane

There is one down here in TX.The car belongs to Greg Kring.Runs 9.10 @25# on good stuff and mid 10s on 93.He doesn't post much.I think his screenname here is SUMMIT.I would say it doesn't count because it is a stage 2 car with stage 2 heads.BTW my car will run mid 11s on pump gas.The time above was with a single 340 and 50# injectors, the motor was stuttering after the 1/8 mile so I let out.The trap speed on that pass was 109.5 mph.Get it now?I had alky and it did not work good on my car so I just keep the boost down or run race gas.Just Imagine the same pass with the usual 1.60 60' I get on new tires.I still can't launch worth a crap.

Well see the jist of this post was a 61/60 or smaller turbo. Your sig says TE63 which is a large shaft turbo. And drag radials.

109 and shutting it down after the 1/8 mile, with a 1.89 60 foot your talking 94+ MPH in the 1/8. which translates to 500 RWHP on crap gas. So ya didnt MPH well, you had a bad 60 foot,etc.. Would of been nice had it been a clean pass.

When the tracks open in your area, get a clean pass and post your times. Actually come down here early March, were getting together an outlaw 109 block on 93 pump class going to show what real street cars can do. We probably have 3-5 so far wanting in. 50 bucks each in a pot, three passes, fastest guy takes the pot. 3500 lbs, 10 gallons 93 in the tank, 109 block car. hows that for rules :)

I could bracket race mine on an 11.75 index with the alcohol injection.. very consistent.. No problems with alky.. it just rocks.

I know of a stage motor car that can run high 10's on pump.. but add cubic $$$, Cubic inches, and the supporting stuff.. it better.

Gene Flurry I believe ran a 10.7 but the details to that are sketchy. Dont know of any other 109 block cars that have done it. Not that can do it.. but have done it pass after pass after pass like clock work. No hail Mary's single passes.. I mean runs the number. period. Not runs the number then back on the trailer. or could, or should, or will.. I mean does it with a full tank of 93.

You are definitely right there is not going to be toomany stock block cars in the 10s on pump.I was not aware that my turbo was a big shaft turbo. This 109 class sounds cool. The next time our local club will go to the 1/4 mile track is april 3.That is in Temple TX around 2-21/2 hours from Dallas.I drove there last time in the GN.The only tracks around here close within about 60 miles are 1/8.My best 1/8 mile is in the 7.3 range and 93-94 mph on low boost.I just started trying to tune it on race gas last October in Noble OK.That was the last race I went to.Still could not get the boost above 20# and stuttering bad.I think it was a fueling problem so I got a double pumper and some bigger injectors.I am waiting to see what it does with 25# in April.Ran 11.69 in Noble with the same problems as I had in Temple.Always after the 1/8 mile it would act up and start to lean out.

BTW do you have ported heads and intake?I had what is in my sig except for the injectors and fuel pumps(was 50s and 340).There was a guy in temple running alky woth 2.0 60's and he was doing 12.20s @ 119!I asked him about the combo and he knew very little as it was built for him and tuned at Conley's.I think a highly modded car is more tricky to run with alky properly because of the low MAT.I am curious what you might think?I have thought about giving it another try.

No my motor is cept for valve springs 100% stock. Now its getting the breathing dept taken care off. And yes a modded car is a bit trickier to figure out, but everything about a modded car is. I think you need to give the alcohol system some thought.. and as you mod your GN, the simple setups dont quite usually cut it. It takes some planning and datalogging to get a fast car dialed in. I believe your car has potential, just needs a little guidance.

7.3-7.4 = 11.30-11.40 range and on 93, your asking a lot.

If you have any alky questions, give me a call, i'll do what I can to help/guide.

Cheers

Julio

I'm running a PT51 but also a 210/205 cam. SMC kit with denatured alky and 93 octane. Still on Nitto DRs :)

Working with Eric to get my mph back up to 120 like I had with the Thrasher 92 chip. We'll get there...

Ohh wonderful, another fast TTA on pump gas..

hehe

TTA guys stay out.. your scaring away the Buicks..

Ya.. do it in Fla in 85+ degree weather on our slippery track running 93 octane gas.. better put up 120 mph.

Since many seem to be refering to weather conditions, it was 96* F with 90%+ humidity for my 11.80 runs. Never got back to the track with better weather, before I sold it.
