Looking to make a mild brake upgrade on my stock '87 GN. I'm not going to race, or auto cross, just want to upgrade the front discs, pads and rear shoes with something a little better than stock without spending a fortune. ( The brakes are still working fine , but will need replaced next year.) I'm thinking vented / drilled rotors and better pads / shoes for the rear. Any ideas from you budget-minded guys would be appreciated.

I also did the same thing, good pads like Hawks really go far in braking performance but you need to match the type for what kind of driving you do.
Willwood also makes new D154 calipers with a slightly larger piston they look just like stock ones but are new castings.

I did the 2wd Blazer front brakes and was amazed how well it stopped.

Was the blazer swap a simple one?
I Would say cheap and easy. a lot of salvage yards around here, I made money on the caliper cores and now it stops and holds boost better than ever, I also have vac brakes.
