Well unfortunately this is a weekend where construction crews are hanging huge beams for a new 290/35 interchange. This means that 35 is closed in that area. Might just be the S bound lanes but not sure. People coming S on 35 through Austin might consider getting onto 183 in NC Austin and continuing S on 183 to Hwy 21, take 21 S or W bound and then rejoining 35 at San Marcos, then a mile or two later getting back off onto TX 123. Or just continue down 183 all the way to I-10, then proceed W on I-10 as usual. I hope that traffic is not backed up even past the 183 interchange in Austin, but it may very well be.
If you proceed down 183, consider stopping in at Black's BBQ in Lockhart for dinner
No doubt it's a nightmare on 35 in Austin this weekend. Worth bypassing IMO.
