Well I went down to MIR with several friends Sat afternoon for some time runs. They allow five passes for $30 bucks. You just pull up in the lanes when you are ready. It was pretty cool. The track officials where the coolest I've ever experienced. Anyway, the issue I have right now is I don't have a line-lock and I am heating the rear brakes on the burnouts. The first pass was at 20lbs of boost on the 24 degree Max-effort maf-less racechip on the default settings. I was running 28x 10.5 et drags at 12psi. I went 11.78 at 116.22. I left on 5lbs of boost. The 60 foot time was 1.77. The egt's were at 1494.
The second pass I turned up the boost to 22 and ran 11.52 at 118.82. I still left around 5lbs. The 60's were 1.73. It seemed to be all I could hold without pushing. The egt's were 1580.
The third pass, I used the e-brake and pushed the boost up to around 6-7lbs or so. Well I pushed slightly before I actually pulled the lever and left. I think that I hurt my e.t. because of this. I ran an 11.71 at 116.44.
On the fourth pass, I let a friend of mine drive the car. He had a high 10 second mustang and his father has a TTA. I turned the boost up slightly.(turned out to be 24psi) When he did the burnout, He barely got the tires spinning and did a dragster type burnout off of the brakes. Then he staged the car, put on the e-brake, put the car in neutral revved it a few times to build vacuum. He left at 8 lbs of boost and got a 1.69 60 foot. He ran 7.26 at 94.41 in the eighth and finished with an 11.33 at 120.17. I was ecstatic, however a little bummed I was'nt driving. There was no knock on the pass and the egt's were 1640.
On the last pass, I replicated his staging practice. I did'nt change anything on the set-up of the car. It worked because I had a 1.68 60 foot time. I ran 7.25 at 96.62 in the eighth. I made one mistake though. I put the car back in overdrive after the burnout instead of drive. She shifted into overdrive around the 1000 ft mark I still finished with an 11.34 at 118.81. Probably could have been in the 11.20's at 121-122 if I had'nt f'ed up.
I am still pretty happy. I figure if I ever try any setting on this chip besides the defaults, and get a line-lock and some S-10 wheel cylinders then I'll get some 60 fts out of the car and run even quicker. I also need top set-up the pinion angle with my adlustable upper control arms. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
